WRAM is excited to announce our partnership with Mass Audubon to support the statewide Rescue Raptors initiative!
As the wildlife rehab community knows well, our ecosystems rely on raptors, foxes, coyotes, and other predators to maintain balance. Mass Audubon launched a Rescue Raptors initiative to address the issue of these valuable predators becoming poisoned by second-generation anti-coagulant rodenticides (SGARs).
The program supports local campaigns across the state of Massachusetts to reduce the use of rodenticides and explore alternative rodent control methods. It provides logistical support, strategic advice, connections to other advocacy groups, and helps amplify local campaigns and events.
Mass Audubon offers monthly meetings to orient new volunteers and connect group leaders. If you’re interested in learning more about their efforts, sign up for an upcoming orientation session.
Additionally, in collaboration with NH Audubon and Audubon Society of Rhode Island, Mass Audubon Is hosting a virtual event on Wednesday, October 9, 6:00-7:30pm: A Forum for Safe Rodent Control in New England. Register for the event here.
